Once you’re sufficiently energized, take a wander along the sandbank from Wellington Point to King Island, also known as Yerra-Bin.

At low tide, there’re a shell-strewn stretch connecting the island with the mainland. Now a reserve, the island was home to a family of seven during the early 1900s.

On a wintery day, the walk will help build a sharp appetite. Why not appease it at Cintron Bayside?

This new eatery at Wellington Point is where the Mediterranean meets the bay. Try the all-day breakfast with a Mediterranean twist; freshly made pancakes with mascarpone and local strawberries; or, for something heartier, tuck into house-made pasta with ragu sauce.

If the spell of Wello has you in its thrall, there’s the option to stay a little longer.
