1770 Half Hour Special – Kayaking, Festivals, Lagoons & Luxury

Combined, the townships of Agnes Water and 1770 make up what’s known as the Discovery Coast. There are many tour companies offering great experiences for tourists.

1770 Liquid Adventures offer a range of kayaking tours. Their most popular is their sunset kayak tour. All gear and snacks are provided.

A trip to 1770 wouldn’t be complete without an adventure with 1770 LARC Tours. They take visitors to parts of Bustard Bay that are inaccessible to other vehicles courtesy of their 1960s US Army vehicles.

Each year, locals celebrate James Cook’s landing at 1770 with the Captain Cook 1770 Festival. It’s a weekend of fun for the whole family that includes live entertainment, a street parade and much more.

The southern Great Barrier Reef is easily accessible thanks to 1770 Reef Tours. The journey takes just over an hour and guests can spend the day exploring Lady Musgrave Island and its stunning lagoon.

Lagoons 1770 Resort and Spa is a great spot to call home whilst enjoying a Discovery Coast holiday. It boasts luxury accommodation, a restaurant and day spa.

A great website for learning more about the Discovery Coast is the Gladstone Region tourism website.
