Festival of Opera in the Outback

The vast and ancient landscape of Queensland’s Outback deserves a stirring, soaring soundtrack.

That’s precisely what the Festival of Opera in the Outback delivers – thanks to the genius of Opera Queensland.

The week-long event brings our top sopranos, tenors and baritones – along with musicians from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra – to some of the state’s most stunning and remote scenery.

It’s all about culture connecting city and country.

Events include the Dark Sky Serenade at Australian Age of Dinosaurs; Singing in the Night at Camden Park Station; the Opera Ball in Longreach; and Sing, Sing, Sing – a community singalong at Winton’s classic North Gregory Hotel.

The event is part of Queensland Music Trails – and one of the fantastic festivals on the It’s Live in Queensland calendar.

The Festival of Opera in the Outback is on again in 2024 – so start making plans and warming up those vocal chords!
