Airlie Beach is known as the gateway to the Whitsundays. Every day, holidaymakers head out from the marina, in search of sun, sand and tropical reef. But the Port of Airlie is so much more than a launchpad to the islands, in fact, it’s a tourist destination in its own right.

While you’re sipping on your latte, you can ask one of the friendly staff to book you in for a tour with GSL Marine! They offer island and jet ski tours, plus scenic flights.

Enjoy a long lunch at La Marina:

If you’re a fan of authentic Italian cuisine, you have to try La Marina. Joe and his family have created an incredible menu, that showcases family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. They’re open for dinner 7 days a week and they serve up lunch Friday through to Sunday. This isn’t the only spot in Airlie where you can enjoy Joe’s hospitality. Paradiso Rooftop Bar and Restaurant is a cool cocktail bar that overlooks the ocean. It’s the perfect spot to spend an afternoon and of course, you can settle into the evening there too!
