Thunderbird Park

Tours are a great way to get out and about and to get your bearings, but the one at Thunderbird Park is a little different. Think 60 metres above the ground at speeds of up to 70 kilometres an hour.

Thunderbird Park’s Canyon flyer is a guided zipline canopy tour over Cedar Creek Canyon on Tamborine Mountain.

They’ve got seven ziplines going through Cedar Creek Canyon. The first four are up high and the final three drop down into the canyon offering views of Cedar Creek below.

At the end of your Canyon flyer run, you drop right back into Thunderbird Park and – what do you know – another adventure! The TreeTop Challenge!

The TreeTop Challenge has adult and kid ropes courses ranging from beginner experiences right through to very challenging.

For many though, Thunderbird Park is synonymous with thundereggs and fossicking. In fact, it has the largest deposit of thundereggs on the planet. The kids will love heading out with their buckets and bringing back their finds to take home with them.

There’s also horse trail riding that goes right through the hills, laser skirmish which is played in an outdoor battlefield in a rainforest, pickleball courts and an adventure mini golf course.

Thunderbird Park is an easy and welcome day trip from Brisbane or the Gold Coast during these school holidays, and if you want to stay a little longer, there are plenty of options at Cedar Creek Lodges. Oh and the four-legged friends are welcome, now that’s a cherry on top!

The on-sight restaurant and bar with gourmet menu options and some seriously decadent cocktails will give visitors the choice not to cook – always a welcome option!
