How to spend a weekend on the Sunshine Coast

Soak up the sun in Noosa

A trip to the Sunshine Coast wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Noosa Main Beach. Noosa Main Beach is one of the few beaches on the Sunny Coast that faces north, meaning that it is a great option for families and those who prefer calmer surf. The other great thing about Noosa Main Beach is that when you are done, you can cross the road and explore Hastings Street, where you will find fantastic accommodation, shopping and restaurants.

Shop up a storm at the Eumundi Markets

If you are at a loose end on a Saturday morning, swing by the Eumundi Markets for a meal and a spot of shopping. The Eumundi Markets are home to a wide range of furniture, art, homewares, produce, fashion and jewellery, and an abundance of delicious food! The Markets are open every Wednesday between 8am-1.30pm and Saturdays between 7am-2pm.

Why not plan your trip to the Sunny Coast around the Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival on the 30th October to the 3rd November 2019? The Noosa Triathlon is one of the biggest multi-sport festivals of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Whether you’re young or old, a professional or an amateur, you will definitely find an event to compete in over the five days.

Indulge your sweet tooth

If you have a craving for something sugary, or the weather isn’t great, why not go for a hinterland drive to Kenilworth Bakery? For those with a big appetite, call ahead and order yourself a 1kg cream doughnut and see if you can finish it all in one sitting. We recently attempted the challenge ourselves – see how we went here!

Have a splash in Caloundra

If you have little ones who love getting wet, visit Kings Beach in Caloundra for a morning of fun. Here, you will find a water play area and an oceanfront saltwater pool that kids will love. If you visit on a Sunday, between 8am-1pm, also check out the Caloundra Street Fair in the main street between swims. You will love it!
