It’s Live in Queensland – September

Road racing, Aussie rock and a famous surf showdown are the highlights of this month’s It’s Live in Queensland festivals and events not to be missed.

Cycle Sunshine Coast is a fabulous 4-day festival of fast and furious two-wheel action in one of the state’s most beautiful coastal destinations, happening from the 19th to the 20th October.

This year, the festival highlight is the Sunny Coast Century –a 97-kilometre ride through hinterland towns and along peaceful coastline.

What do the Great Barrier Reef and great Aussie Rock have in common?  Head to Bundaberg over the weekend of 14th and 15th October and you’ll find out!

Lighthouse Rock is an amped-up, two-day festival that brings the country’s biggest music stars to beautiful Burnett Heads in Bundy, gateway to the southern Great Barrier Reef.

This year, Icehouse leads a cracking line-up of rock legends – celebrating 40 years of classic Aussie anthem, Great Southern Land, among many other hits by this iconic band.

The rock stars of surf, sea and sand are set to battle it out over the same weekend in October (14th & 15th) in this year’s Shaw & Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold – one of the country’s longest running and most challenging Ironman and Ironwoman contests.

The southern Gold Coast is set to attract a bumper crowd to watch bronzed, buff and agile bodies hit the elements in a weekend of events that combine swimming, running, board paddling and surf skiing.
