Terry Drennan from Cobb+Co

Terry Drennan began training as a blacksmith and farrier when he was 21 years old. Many years, and awards, later and he’s still just as passionate about the traditional trade. He now shares his skills and enthusiasm for the old craft with new generations, teaching blacksmithing courses at Cobb+Co Museum in Toowoomba.

Terry’s been a Toowoomba local for over 30 years and loves the area and community. He’s particularly fond of the Cobb+Co Museum, encouraging people to visit the incredible displays of old carriages (some of which he’s helped restore) and participate in the many events throughout the year.

Terry has been teaching at the museum for over 15 years and loves seeing students’ satisfaction when they’ve created a piece with their own hands. While he’s retired from blacksmithing professionally, he claims he’ll never retire from the museum, vowing to keep the lost trade alive.

Terry runs the classes once to twice a month. Book in for one of Terry’s Blacksmithing courses, or another hands-on workshop to learn traditional trades here.
